What We Treat
Neurological Conditions
In a functional medicine approach, we focus on managing systemic inflammation, which also plays a major role in brain health. We take a deep dive into neuro‑hormonal balance, ensure the availability of key nutrients that support brain function, and consider potential environmental exposures—such as heavy metals or mould—that may affect neurological wellbeing.
We’ve also observed positive outcomes when treating Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) in patients with Parkinson’s disease, with improvements in both digestive and neurological symptoms. This further reinforces the strong connection between gut health and brain function.

What Our Patients Say
“Daniela and Lynda rescued me from a feeling of hopelessness created by the most appallingly badly handled delivery of a diagnosis by a consultant informing me that I had an incurable, degenerative disease, namely Parkinson’s, for which I would be given a prescription and should go away and look at the UK Parkinson’s website! Together they listened to my story of symptoms including ongoing gut problems, a shaking hand and twitching face. They discussed my lifestyle, nutrition and stresses over the years including IVF treatments, multiple surgeries, environment, a challenging job and family illnesses before coming up with a plan to try and find out what might be causing my symptoms. They ran batteries of tests over a year or so discovering amongst other things that I had SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) and a high level of arsenic in my blood stream. Within 10 days the treatment for SIBO had cured a protruding gut and the tremor in my left hand had stopped. Over the following months I was given various supplements, and on their advice made changes to diet and lifestyle. All this allowed me to continue without pharmaceutical drugs for almost 2.5 years using my chosen route of integrated alternative treatments. Whilst I do have Parkinson’s (and a new neurologist) and now take a low level of pharmaceuticals, Daniela and Lynda continue to update supplements so that I feel now as well as I have done for years. I play a great deal of sport, eat well and lead a full life. They are a tower of strength with masses of knowledge between them and nothing is too much trouble be it liaising with Jan over appointments or getting blood tests done at home. I simply cannot recommend Functional Medicine Wimbledon highly enough”
- Mrs JB, Parkinson's (age 65)
I have been under the kind care and management of FMW for PD since around 2020. I presented at that time severe imbalance, narrow steps, feet dragging that was crippling. Many other symptoms were involved .
I was keen to receive natural treatment for PD as I honour nature and our bodies are in perfect harmony with natural supplements.
I contacted FMW team made of one doctor and a nutritionist. I will never regret this as it brought dramatic positive changes. I regained normal gait, no feet dragging, improved balance and so many other improvements .
FMW treatment strategies are very successful as they do not treat or mask symptoms. They actually target underlying causes. I submitted to several blood and other tests to address gut issues which are implicated in PD. Treatment of gut issues started my healing journey at FMW. Blood tests are very specific to highlight specific causes. FMW is very unique in its healthcare intervention to a very complex raveging condition as PD. I never receive any unnecessary supplement. In fact every treatment I get is given out of knowledge backed by science.
The team is very friendly and humble and meeting sessions are very relaxed and informative. I benefit a lot by receiving continuous nutritional advice. And continuous follow up meetings just shows FMW team dedication and genuine patience to achieve remission.
PD is progressive but it has not progressed for me as FMW interventions keep halting its toxic progression.
In fact every set of supplements bring new gain of a movement or mobility which was lost to PD.
There are continuous challenges but I am walking the path of healing at FMW. I am not alone in this. I have full unfailing health support from FMW wonderful sincere highly conscientious team.
